Widgets
A widget is one configured piece of content: this weather forecast for this town, this website, this calendar, this image. The widget type says what kind it is, and its settings say what it shows. Plans and playlists are made of widgets.

The Widgets page
A Type filter, Search, All / Archived, Grid view / List view, Add widget, Select all widgets and Results per page. A widget has neither an online nor a published state, so cards carry no pill; the sub-label is the widget type. Most widgets have nothing to photograph, so the card shows the type's glyph. An empty page reads No widgets yet.
A Canvas card opens the Canvas editor instead of a settings page.
Add a widget
Press Add widget. The Add Widget dialog shows a tile per type; the media types and Playlist are not offered. Pick one and the title becomes Add Widget - Weather (or whichever type you chose), with Name, Notes and the type's own fields. Display status is locked with Available on the Business plan on the Standard plan.
Save, and the widget page opens. Every field is described in the Widget catalog.
The widget page
The header has the name, an Edited date, and one Cancel / Save changes pair. Both stay disabled until you change something, and one Save changes saves every card at once.
Details
Name, Type, Created and Last edited, then notes and tags. Edit opens Edit widget for the name and notes; Delete there archives the widget.
Settings
The widget's own fields, grouped into named sections. Which sections appear depends on the type: Source and Playback for most, Account, Report and Calendar for the signed-in types, Clock and Visible elements for Date & Time, Appearance and Screens to show for Display status. A type with nothing to configure (Image, Video) has no Settings card. The fields are listed per type in the Widget catalog.
Custom styles
Its own card, Custom styles, with the line "Override the fonts and colors this widget renders with." and an Active / Inactive switch. Inactive, the widget follows your Brand styles. Active, the card opens fonts and colours for this widget only. Switching it off again asks Clear all styles?.
Preview
The widget rendered at the chosen size on a dark stage. Preview options set the Orientation, Width and Height; the layout row opens Preview layout, where you pick a layout and the Section the widget previews in. Hover a section to see its name and pixel size. Changes are drafts until View changes.
Showing on
Up to six displays that play this widget, each with a live online dot and its location and channel. See all opens the full list with the columns Display, Location, Channel and Playlist. A widget on no plan reads Not on any display.
Saving a widget's settings reaches displays immediately; there is nothing to publish. The plan decides when it plays, the widget decides what it shows.
Live widgets
Some types fetch their content while they play, so they are never stale: Weather, Google Calendar, Outlook Calendar, RSS Feed, News, Ticker, Power BI, Display status and Date & Time. Where it matters, a Refresh rate field says how often.
Archive and restore
Delete archives a widget. It leaves every plan it was on and shows under Archived, where Restore brings it back. An archived widget's page reads This widget has been deleted with a Restore option.
