Samsung Tizen
Signital runs on Samsung Smart TVs and Samsung commercial signage panels, which both use the Tizen operating system. Consumer TVs install it from Samsung's app store. Signage panels without a store use the URL Launcher or Custom app settings instead.
Before you start
- A Samsung Tizen TV or signage panel connected to the network.
- For the store method, a Samsung account signed in on the TV. The other two methods need no account.
- A display created in the portal. See Displays.
Install the Signital app
Connect the display
- The panel shows a 5-character pairing code and a QR code.
- In the portal, open the display's page, press Connect and type the code. The fifth character submits it. Or scan the QR code with your phone and tap the display.
The full steps are in Connect a display.
Tips for this platform
- Dedicate the TV to Signital. Set the Signital app to open on power-on where the TV allows it.
- Turn off the TV's eco sleep and screensaver settings.
- Restart, Identify and, on the Business plan, Reboot device all work from the display page. See Manage a device.
- The Samsung remote's Return key asks for confirmation before leaving the app, so a stray press does not take the display down.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| Signital is not found in the store | Check the network connection and that the TV is up to date. Some signage panels have no store; use URL Launcher or Custom app. |
| The store will not install the app | Sign in to a Samsung account on the TV. |
| No pairing code when the app opens | Check the network connection, then close and reopen the app. |
| The panel shows a certificate or SSL error | The panel's clock is wrong. Set the date and time in the panel's settings, or enable automatic time. |
