Plan & Billing

Plan & Billing

Signital is billed per display, monthly, on one of two plans: Standard or Business. This page, at Settings › Plan & Billing, shows what you will be charged next, holds your payment method, lets you change plan, and lists every invoice.

The Plan & Billing page on the Business plan, showing the Your account card with subscription figures, the current payment method, the plan band and the billing history table.

How billing works

  • Per display. Each month you pay the plan's price for every display that was online during the billing period. A display that stays offline all month is not counted; a display you delete is not counted from then on.
  • Two plans. Standard has everything most workspaces need. Business adds the features in Standard vs Business at a higher price per display.
  • Two currencies. Your subscription is in EUR or USD. Prices are shown as € or $ throughout the portal.
  • Monthly in arrears. The display count is measured over the period and charged when it ends, on the Next billing date.

Your account

The first card is Your account. Its left half names your plan, Standard Plan or Business Plan, with a pill for the subscription's state, and shows:

FigureMeaning
DisplaysNumber of online displays in the current billing period, so far.
Price per displayWhat each of them costs on your plan and in your currency.
Next paymentThe estimated total at the end of the period.
Next billing dateWhen the period ends and the card is charged. On a cancelled subscription this becomes Expires at.
CurrencyEUR or USD, with Change beside it.

During a free trial the card also reads Free trial active until followed by the date.

Change opens Change currency, a single Currency list with EUR and USD. Pick one and press Update. The change applies to the next invoice; invoices already issued keep their currency.

Some workspaces pay by invoice rather than by card. Their page shows a Your Subscription card reading Bank transfer is enabled on this account. with the support address for changes, and none of the self-service controls below. Contact support to move to card billing.

If the card reads No billing information found with the line Please create a display to generate billing information, the subscription has not started yet. Add a display and reload the page.

Payment method

The right half of Your account is Current payment method. With a card on file it shows the card type, the last four digits and the expiry as month / year, with a trash icon beside it. Without one it reads No payment method set.

  • Add payment method, or Update payment method when a card exists, opens a dialog of the same name with two groups. Billing information: First name, Last name, Country, Street address, City, Region, Zip/Postal. Credit card information: Card number, Expiration month, Expiration year, CVV. Press Add or Update. The billing information is what appears on your invoices.
  • The trash icon asks Removing payment method. Press Remove to confirm.
⚠️

Removing your only payment method means the next invoice cannot be collected. The subscription then expires at the end of the period and your displays stop receiving content until a card is added and the subscription renewed. See If the subscription lapses.

Upgrade to Business

On Standard, a band under Your account reads Upgrade to Business with the line Custom fonts, custom layouts and proof-of-play analytics. and an Upgrade plan button.

The Plan & Billing page on the Standard plan, with the Upgrade to Business band and its Upgrade plan button under the account card.

Open the dialog

Press Upgrade plan. The Upgrade to Business dialog opens with the line Unlock these features immediately. and the three features listed.

The Upgrade to Business dialog listing custom fonts, custom layouts and proof-of-play analytics, with the current and Business price per display and an Upgrade button.

Check the price

The grey box shows Price per display with the Standard price struck through and the Business price beside it, and an Estimated monthly line for your current display count. Under it: Features unlock immediately. Billing changes to the Business rate from your next renewal on followed by the date.

Confirm

Press Upgrade. A toast reads Plan change scheduled. Business features unlock straight away, the sidebar gains Analytics, and the band changes to the amber Scheduled to switch to Business on … line until the renewal, when it becomes You're on the Business plan.

Until the renewal you are still charged at the Standard rate. From the renewal on, at the Business rate.

Downgrade to Standard

On Business the band reads You're on the Business plan with Downgrade to Standard. Pressing it opens Downgrade to Standard: you keep Business features until your next renewal, this cycle is still billed at the Business rate, and after that custom fonts, custom layouts and proof-of-play analytics are no longer available. Press Schedule downgrade.

Until the renewal nothing changes. After it:

  • Analytics leaves the sidebar and stops recording. Existing data is kept for the retention period but cannot be viewed.
  • Custom fonts and custom layouts already on your displays keep playing. You can no longer edit them or add new ones.
  • The Display status widget, Reboot device and Screen schedule are locked.
  • A notification Plan changed to Standard is added.

Cancel a scheduled change

While an upgrade or downgrade is waiting for the renewal, the band is amber: Scheduled to switch to … on … with a Cancel change button. It asks Cancel scheduled plan change; press Cancel plan change to stay on the current plan. Only one change can be pending at a time, so scheduling a new one replaces the old one.

Billing history

The Billing history table lists every invoice with Invoice ID, Date, Status and Amount, and a download icon at the end of the row that saves the PDF. Status is one of Paid, Failed, Past due or Pending.

A Failed or Past due invoice means a charge did not go through; update the payment method under Current payment method. Each failed charge also produces a notification.

Free trial

A new workspace starts on a free trial when you press Start free trial on the registration page. No card is needed to begin, and every feature of the Standard plan is available.

  • Your account reads Free trial active until followed by the end date.
  • Three days before the end, a notification Trial expiring is added.
  • When four days or fewer remain and there is no card on file, every portal page shows the banner Trial is ending soon with the end date and an Add payment method button that brings you here.

Add a card before the trial ends and the subscription continues without a gap. Without one, it expires at the end of the trial.

If the subscription lapses

When an invoice cannot be collected, or the trial ends with no card, the subscription expires. A notification Subscription expired is added, every portal page shows the red banner Your subscription is inactive! with Go to billing, and your displays stop receiving content; a device that restarts shows nothing. The portal itself stays open so you can fix it.

To start again, add a payment method, then press Renew subscription on Your account and confirm Renew subscription. Payment is taken, the banner disappears, and your displays are told to reload their content. See Troubleshooting.

Cancel subscription

The three-dot menu at the top right of Your account holds Cancel subscription. It asks Cancel subscription: you keep using Signital until the end of the current billing cycle. Press Cancel subscription to confirm.

⚠️

After the cycle ends your displays go dark and the workspace is suspended. Your channels, media and settings are kept, and Renew subscription brings everything back, but nothing plays in between. Export anything you need first.
