Amazon Fire TV
A Fire TV Stick plugged into a TV's HDMI port makes an inexpensive Signital display. The Signital app comes from the Amazon Appstore and keeps itself up to date.
Before you start
- A Fire TV Stick plugged into the display and signed in to an Amazon account. A Prime subscription is not needed.
- The stick connected to the network.
- A display created in the portal. See Displays.
Install the Signital app
Update the stick
From the home page, open Settings, then My Fire TV, then About, and choose Check for Updates.
Install Signital
Back on the home page, open Search, type Signital, select the app and press Get or Download. The listing is also at amazon.co.uk/Dacoda-Signital/dp/B0CX5JNG3X (opens in a new tab).
Open it
Press Open. The app shows a 5-character pairing code.
Connect the display
- The TV shows a 5-character pairing code and a QR code.
- In the portal, open the display's page, press Connect and type the code. The fifth character submits it. Or scan the QR code with your phone and tap the display.

Tips for this platform
- Dedicate the stick to Signital. Other apps left running affect playback.
- Turn off the stick's screensaver under Settings › Display & Sounds › Screensaver, otherwise it interrupts playback after idle time.
- Restart and Identify work from the display page. Rebooting the stick itself remotely is not available. See Manage a device.
Troubleshooting
| What you see | What to do |

| Signital is not found in Search | Check the stick's network connection and that it is up to date. |
| The install fails | Clear the Appstore's cache under Settings › Applications › Manage Installed Applications › Appstore, then try again. |
| No pairing code when the app opens | Check the network connection, then close and reopen the app. |
