Getting started

Which devices can run Signital?

Any device with a modern web browser, Android and Google TV devices, Amazon Fire TV, BrightSign players, Raspberry Pi, Samsung Tizen TVs and signage panels, and LG webOS TVs. Apple TV is coming. The Player guides page compares them.

Do I need to create a channel to get started?

No. Every display has a plan of its own. Add content on the display page, publish, and it plays. Channels are for showing the same content on several displays. See Key concepts.

How do I switch between workspaces?

If your login belongs to more than one workspace, the chip under the logo in the sidebar opens Switch workspace. See Dashboard & Live Overview.

Displays and devices

Where do I find the pairing code?

On the device. While it is not connected, the Signital player shows a 5-character code and a QR code. In the portal, open the display, press Connect and type the code; the fifth character submits it. Or scan the QR code with your phone and tap the display in the list that opens. In a web browser, open signital.tv (opens in a new tab) to get a code. See Connect a display.

The code was rejected, or it has an O or a 0 in it

Codes change every 45 minutes, so read the code off the device again; a device that has waited a while shows a new one. The code never contains the letter O or the digit 0, so whichever you see is the other one. See Troubleshooting.

How do I move Signital to a new device?

Open the display, open Controls and choose Reconnect. Type the code the new device shows, or scan its QR code with your phone. The old device returns to the pairing code. See Connect a display.

Why is my display Offline?

Its player has not checked in for a couple of minutes. Check the device's power and network. See Troubleshooting.

Can I restart or reboot a display from the portal?

Restart, which reloads the Signital app, works on every platform. Reboot device, which restarts the operating system, is on the Business plan and on devices that support it: Raspberry Pi, Samsung Tizen and LG TV. Both are under Manage device on the display page. See Manage a device.

Can I turn the display off at night?

Yes, with Screen schedule under Manage device, on the Business plan. The display goes dark on the schedule you set and stays connected. See Manage a device.
