Key concepts
Signital has a small number of nouns, and every page in the portal is about one of them. Read this once and the rest of the docs will make sense.
How content reaches a display
- You upload Media or configure a Widget. Both are things that can be shown.
- You add them to a Scheduled plan, which says what plays, in which order, and when.
- The plan belongs to a Channel. Every Display follows exactly one channel.
- You press Publish changes. Until then the display keeps playing what it had.
- The player on the display fetches the published plan and plays it.
The nouns

Draft and published
Every edit to a plan is a draft until you publish it. Cards and pages show an Unpublished pill while a draft exists. This means you can rearrange a whole channel during the day and release it in one go. See Publishing changes.
One display, one channel
A display follows one channel at a time. When you add content on a display page, it goes onto that display's own plan. When you want several displays to show the same thing, put the content on a channel and point the displays at it. Editing a shared channel changes every display that follows it. See Channels.
Standard and Business
Workspaces are on the Standard or the Business plan. Business adds:
- Proof-of-play analytics, the Analytics page.
- Custom layouts, so you can draw your own split-screen arrangements.
- Custom fonts.
- The Display status widget, which shows your fleet's health on a display.
- Reboot device and Screen schedule in Manage device.
Locked features stay visible. Their page shows a lock and an Upgrade button, so you can see what Business adds before you switch. See Plan & Billing.
Roles
People in a workspace are an Owner, Admin, Editor or Viewer. You can only grant someone a role up to your own. See Users & roles.
